Repeater Information

The W4MSI Repeater System is comprised of open repeaters located in Southwestern Kentucky. We encourage new and old amateurs alike to get on the air and enjoy the hobby that is Ham Radio. This system is part of the Allstarlink network.

Repeater System Rules

  1. Obey all FCC rules and regulations per part 97 (FCC Rules)
  2. Always be generally courteous and respectful to all users.
  3. Only Amateurs holding a valid Technician Class or higher license allowed to transmit.
  4. No obscenity/foul language or inappropriate topics (ie. sex) allowed.
  5. No Government affiliated traffic is permitted (ie. Fire/Police/EMS/EMA/etc). This system is designed for Amateur/Ham Hobby use and is intended to be used for those purposes. If someone in an above category holds a valid license they are allowed to use the system but in an unofficial capacity (ie. cannot use the system to pass traffic pertaining to Fire/Police/EMS/EMA/etc operations) (ie. said persons can use the system to talk/chat/ragchew in general Amateur fashion with other Amateurs)
  6. Do not purposely kerchunk the repeaters or otherwise cause interference to the repeaters/system by holding dead keys or otherwise.
  7. Always properly identify your station per FCC regulations.
  8. When transmitting, key up and wait for approximately 1.5 seconds before beginning to speak to allow time for all of the linked repeaters to come up otherwise you will potentially cut off the first part of your transmission. Also, be sure to give ample time (1.5 – 2 seconds) between transmissions to allow time for all of the repeaters to drop out and give their courtesy tones and allow their Timeout Timers to reset, otherwise you will likely end up keeping the repeaters engaged and time them out.
